Lace Up for a Cause: Join Me in Run2Cure Neuroblastoma 2024!

As we embark on a new year, I've decided to kick off 2024 with a personal challenge that goes beyond my own boundaries. I am excited to share that I'm diving into the Run2Cure Neuroblastoma charity fun run, a cause that holds a special place in my heart. This event is not just about covering miles; it's about covering ground in the fight against neuroblastoma, a relentless childhood cancer that has touched my soul.

During my honours year last year, I delved into a research project exploring fusion RNAs in cancer, specifically focusing on neuroblastoma. My thesis, titled 'The Viability of Gene Fusions as Genetic Markers in Neuroblastoma,' allowed me to understand the intricacies of this aggressive disease. Throughout my academic journey, I developed a profound empathy and connection to the young warriors battling neuroblastoma. Although my thesis concluded, my passion to make a difference burns brighter than ever.

Neuroblastoma is a devastating cancer that primarily targets young children, with the average age of diagnosis being a mere 2 years old. The statistics are heart-wrenching, with survival rates for aggressive forms of neuroblastoma standing at just 1 in 2. These innocent souls need our support, and that's why I've chosen to lace up my running shoes and join the Run2Cure movement.
